Apex Hospitality Solutions Ltd is a temporary hospitality staffing agency based in London, providing workforce solutions to hotels, restaurants, event venues, and other hospitality businesses across the United Kingdom.
2. Our Commitment
Apex Hospitality Solutions Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.
3. Our Business & Supply Chains
Our primary business activity is the supply of temporary hospitality workers to client businesses. Our supply chains include:
- Workforce: temporary hospitality professionals registered with our agency, deployed to client sites across the UK.
- Client partners: hotels, restaurants, catering companies, event venues, and hospitality groups to whom we supply staff.
- Service providers: technology providers, professional advisors, and other suppliers who support our business operations.
4. Risk Assessment
As a recruitment and temporary staffing agency operating in the hospitality sector, we recognise that our industry carries an elevated risk of labour exploitation. Areas of particular focus include:
- Workers in low-paid or entry-level hospitality roles.
- Migrant workers who may be vulnerable to exploitation.
- Workers employed on flexible or temporary contracts.
- Subcontracting or labour supply further down our supply chain.
5. Policies & Procedures
We have implemented the following policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of modern slavery:
- Right-to-work checks: all workers undergo thorough right-to-work verification before any placement, in compliance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
- Worker registration: comprehensive registration process including identity verification, reference checks, and face-to-face or video interviews.
- Fair pay: all workers are paid at or above the National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage directly by Apex Hospitality Solutions Ltd. We do not withhold wages or make unauthorised deductions.
- Transparent terms: all workers receive clear, written terms of engagement before commencing work.
- Whistleblowing: we encourage all workers, clients, and partners to report any concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices without fear of retaliation.
- Supplier due diligence: we assess our suppliers and partners for modern slavery risks and require them to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
6. Indicators of Modern Slavery
We train our staff to recognise the signs of modern slavery, which may include:
- Workers appearing fearful, anxious, or under the control of others.
- Workers living in overcrowded or substandard accommodation arranged by a third party.
- Workers having their identity documents withheld.
- Workers not being paid directly or having wages collected by a third party.
- Workers being unable to communicate freely or appearing to have been coached in their responses.
- Excessive working hours without adequate breaks or rest days.
